just as great as his first book; no decline in providing enjoyment. Just as many stories causing out-loud laughter and others drawing tears because they're so touching. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the Herriot books.

This book makes being a veterinarian seem like the most wonderful occupation and at the same time presents the very real world of human nature and animal sense of humor. A must read for anyone thinking of living with animals.
