Someone asks you if they could have your book that you are currently reading or one that you say you will be reading?  It doesn't bother me at all - in fact sometimes I wish people would ask me so I can give it to someone I know from the forums or one of my buddies,  That way I know it's going to a good home and will get read.  (Geez sounds like I'm giving a puppy away).  I just wondered what others feelings are about this.

Doesn't bother me. It saves me from having to search for someone to take it. I don't get PM's for that often though. I used to have what I was reading in my siggy but I got lazy & would forget to update it.

Doesn't bother me.  I'd rather have that then the post about wanting WL books.

It doesn't bother me, and I have done it LOL. I always try to say mention that if they don't appreciate me asking to not have any hard feelings over it.

Maybe I need to start putting the book I'm reading in my siggie or the book I'm reading and next in line. Maybe someone would want both !!!

It's never happened to me, but it wouldn't bother me at all. The only thing is I've been reading a lot of library books lately and would feel bad about not being able to pass it on. But if I own it and will be passing it on, I'd have no problems with it at all.

i guess i'm the odd one out, but i do get slightly annoyed when some random person asks me if they can have the book i'm reading next.

if it's someone from my buddy list, it doesn't bug me.  though i don't think anyone's ever gotten a book from me that way - i'm often saving WL books for use in swap games, or saving batches to try to find people who want more than one, and if it's a hardback it's almost certainly a library book or intended as a keeper.

The first time it happened I was a little wierded out but since then it doesn't bother me. Like someone said, i'd rather pass it on to someone who obviously wants it pretty bad! lol Wishlisted paranormals though, I'll still post in this forum because I like doing that.

I haven't been asked but I've pm'd a few times after games that if they were interested in posting the book when they were done I would happily take it off their hands:lol:   I've also pm'd members if I snagged a book from the Wishlisted Paranormal Books Available to Post thread and someone after me missed it--I  just offer to use the note feature and send it on to them when I'm done.  I usually try to go through their WL to see if I can save postage and send them one or two others as well.  No one has said no either way;)

It  doesn't bug me if it's a buddy.  But I'm like Ellen, I don't want some random person PMing me.  More often than not, I tell them I am using them for a swap.  If I know I'm not using a book for a swap than I usally browse through my buddies WL and return favors :)

That has only happened to me once, and it was not a person I was familiar with so I did feel a little weird about it.  I think the problem is more me - sometimes I have a hard time saying no, even for a situation like that when I should feel no obligation to say yes!  :-\

I like Dawn's ideas: swap or buddy first.

I don't mind at all, just feel bad if it's one of my "keepers", cause then I have to turn them down =)

I don't really mind, I've had it happen several times and if it's on my kindle or promised otherwise then I have no problem telling them that.

And like others, I actually like it when my buddies ask because I love to return favors for all the WL books that have been posted to me.
