I put off finishing this book because I truly did not want it to end. This was an amazing book that managed to touch on so many (of my) emotions throughout the process of reading it. Paul, the main character, is so easy to relate to -- He shares a special bond with his dog Stella who stands by him through thick and thin. Despite the fact that he faces so many hardships and disappointments, these hardships compel him to change his life for the better. Even though this was not a true story, the author gives you a lot to think about when it comes to what truly matters in life. Five stars isn't nearly enough for this book. It was wonderful!!!

This is a good read, though more on the sad side than funny side. Stella is a lovable, old, gentle and wise dog, who has conversations with her human. Paul, her human, is writing a book entitled "Nature for Morons", and there are excerpts from that book throughout. Paul has self-esteem issues, drinks too much and has a general low opinion of himself, though he is a good guy. The book is really about his self reflections, taking an honest look at who he is and making changes for the better. It is somewhat sad, but ends somewhat hopeful. A quick, enjoyable read.
