but apparently there were some changes when I wasn't looking. Twice I have posted a book which should be listed in the A's and both times it appeared between a P and an R title on my bookshelf. One of my "m" books has always been listed between 2 "p's", but it would be nice if both were in the right spot so they could be properly noticed. End of the week meltdown? Does anyone have a similar case or a suggestion?

I had this happen to one book of mine months ago, I sent a question about it to R&R who said they couldn't explain it beyond a glitch. It was eventually ordered, and no problems since. I know that doesn't fix your situation, but at least you know you're not crazy :) Katrina |

I didn't check lately but I had several out of order. I believe someone said they would have to take the site down for some time to correct what's ever wrong. |

Thanks, Anne and Katrina, for the assurances that it's not just me! Do you think anyone out there would mind if things ground to a halt to fix my two books? Hey...just a little Friday night end-of-the week humor. Enjoy the week-end! Weather's great here in the Thumb of Michigan! |

Definitely not just your two books, Cindy. I don't know what it is that causes it to happen, but DH just was going thru his books to verify that he had them all posted and/or the sent ones were all actually gone, and that his count matched our database (which it didn't) and as he was going thru them, he asked "What causes this?" I looked and here he had a book that the first word began with something like STREET and it was in the H's. I know that R&R have said to fix the occasional article mess ups (A, An, The) and some authors with 3 names (Mary Higgins Clark sometimes in the H's and sometimes in the C's) they have to take the database down, and I THOUGHT that might have been what the last outage was this past week, but I don't see those things corrected, (Mary still has two places in the listings.) So, I don't have any clue how high on the priority list this issue is, or when they MIGHT consider doing it. |

There are definitely problems in the title and author sorts. My wish list has "The Riddle of the River" between two S books. "A is for Alibi" is a particularly hard title to sort though. Normally the intial A in a title should be ignored, but not in this case. It's always hard for a computer to deal with exceptions. But how the heck it winds up putting it in the PQR range I do not know. |
