I'm fairly new to PBS and just love it. I'm an big fan of horror and just love the steady stream of new books and authors I've been getting just by reading this forum. Here's the thing that's starting to drive me crazy. I'll see a book I might like to get but there is no synopsis. Even if there is a bunch of thumbs up reviews, if I don't see what the books about I move on. I just left searching for horror and I must of looked up 15 books with no synopsis. I check every book I list and make sure there is something written about it. If not I write what's on the back of the book so that a person can decide if it sounds like a good story. Why would anyone waste a credit on a book you've never read and know nothing about????? Sorry, don't mean to rant on. Any thoughts???

I'm the same way, I will NOT order a book unless I know what it's about. I always write a review of the book because I think it will go faster. I have a lot of books (horror) that I could post but it takes so much time to write reviews. I won't post it unless I write a review. I'm a really slow typer, two fingers LOL!!  And computer illiterate!!! But I love this site

Drives me crazy too

For me it all depends on my mood.About %99.9 of the time I will not spend the time to copy the back cover of a book into my post .If there's not already a description of the book then so be it. If I'm searching for something to read and come across a book that looks interesting I just look it up on amazon.com. It ony takes a second. I'd have missed out on alot of good reads if I hadn't looked up book descriptions at amazon or B&N. I don't rely too heavily on reviews either because my tastes seem to differ from most people.I gave up reading books that were "ranted" about by the mainstream public because I am usually left wondering what all teh hoopla was about!

I'd rather people post their books without reviews (hint hint-lol) then to not post them at all ;)

So,that's my two cents worth:)

Stacy: Never thought to look books up on Amazon. DUH!!!! You know the saying about not being the sharpest knife... I know what you mean with the reviews. I've gotten a book or two because everyone raved about it and when I finished reading it I couldn't figure out why. That's why I like the book descriptions. Well off to Amazon!!!

You no longer have to put book jacket info in a review. When you're in that particular book's data, click on the little down arrow on the upper right hand corner (Misc Options). One of the options that comes up is "Edit Book Data". You can add the book cover info to the actual description of the book now.

I'm like you Cindy. I tend to pass on a book without a description, but if I am really intrigued by the title, I'll look it up on the net.  Lately, I've been trying to add descriptions to the books on my shelf.
