I just discovered his books and have read three of them and waiting for the fourth on my wish list. I just wish I had discovered The Young Wan before I read The Mammy and The Chisellers. It was written after the other three books but is a prequel so I would have preferred reading it first. My only complaint is that they are two short and I read each of them in one day because I just couldn't put them down.

Hi Elaine,

If you read this thread, you'll see you aren't alone: http://www.paperbackswap.com/forum/topic.php?t=108256  I've read Agnes Browne and the Chisellers.  They were so funny and heartfelt.  I really enjoyed them.  I like the writer's style.  You feel like you know the family.  I rarely laugh at novels.  These made me laugh several times.

Hi Melody,

I agree these books make me both laugh and cry. I don't know if it is because I just read it but I think that the Young Wan is my favorite now, of course I haven't read the Granny yet either. I've decided I'm not sorry I read the Young Wan after the other two because it really explained a lot and makes the others a bit more poignant if that's possible. I would have offered it to you but it has already been requested.
