Highly recommended read. The dialogue and intrigue was sharp and characters were well-drawn. I liked that the relationship between the hero and heroine built at a "medium" pace. (Fast being -- they hop right into lust & love and Slow -- being they hate each other until the last 5 pages). The intrigue was excellent and I could really relate to the emotional states of both characters. I could not put this book down and read it in one night.

Oh, yes. GOOD plot, interesting characters, a plot twist, a LOT of intrigue, and some very well-written love scenes make for a highly entertaining book. I really cared about the flawed hero & heroine, and how they interacted.(My English teacher would have been very proud of the character motivation and development) And the hint of cougars taking advantage of young boys was very disturbing. Not your typically frothy Regency romance; this one had a touch of noir and had claws sharp enough to hook you. I found it difficult to put down.

This was surprisingly good. The book does NOT fit the title or back description. It is far more subtle and the interaction between h/h is more slowly built than the back cover alludes. Good love scenes but not terribly steamy compared to others. Enjoyable read and a keeper.
