The Thrush Green series provides a peaceful, interesting, and very descriptive study of the lives and loves of a very simple community in the Cotswolds. I have always enjoyed the writings of british authors and I have received enjoyment from the books by Miss Read. Thrush Green is the first in a series of 12 etc books and I had read several of the group but had some missing pieces to the whole picture by not having the first edition. Now the picture is complete. I am going to share my library with my daughter in law and my grandaughter. I think they will enjoy it as much as I have.
I was also given a few books by Miss Read in her Fairacre series, and will begin them soon. I have a few missing books and will fill the voids before I begin. Will be looking to paperback swap for some and also ebay etc.
Thanks for asking, hope this review will stimulate others to travel to Thrush Green.
If you like Jan Karon, you might like this author. Cozy English stories.
A May Day fair in the Cotswold village of Thrush Green brings to light pleasures and pains. Aa charming vignette of country life.
