Not only is it St. Patrick's Day, but much more importantly, it's Christa and Kelly P's birthdays -- yes, BOTH of them are a year older today. Obviously, this calls for major celebration. So...

Lots of books - Jeremy Mason McGraw

and of course some music: this or this.

Wishing you both much joy (and please save me some wine and cake)!!!

ETA: And for our other Kelly (and anyone else who is abstaining from alcohol):

Awwwww!  Thank you so much, Deb!  It has already been a truly wonderful birthday weekend.  Yesterday, we found out that DD was accepted to her first choice grad school!  It is very competitive and it was the last piece of the puzzle before she and her fiance could make plans about where to live, etc.  So that was huge.  Plus, I had birthday lunch and shopping with my best friend, took DD and the wedding dress to the alteration shop, got pampered at the beauty salon, and then had birthday dinner out with the family.  Today, I have some errands to run this morning, and then I am going to sit out in the sun and read for awhile.  Time to start on that wedding tan!

I hope my birthday buddy, Kelly, has a most excellant day as well!

Thank you, all, for your wonderful wishes! And, Happy Birthday to you, Christa! I know getting to spend a fun day with your daughter was a great day indeed! Congratulations to you & your family on all the wonderful happenings & great news coming your way!

I just got off Skype with my daughter, her boyfriend and two other friends. They have made homemade bread & Irish car bomb cupcakes (too many of them & one needs a designated driver if I remember the recipe correctly!) Then later this evening, they are going to make Shepherd's Pie & watch a movie (with Irish characters or overtones or undertones or influence, etc., ... you get the idea). Jennifer & one of the friends are quite a bit Irish; the other two are just along for the good food and good company! :) Anyway, they sang Happy Birthday to me & had a cupcake with candle for me. Jennifer graciously blew out the candle & then ate the cupcake all on my behalf ... she assured me I enjoyed it very much!

I have dinner plans this evening, and am hopeful that a game or two of cards is also in my future - a good steak, good wine & cards with friends is just about a perfect evening for me! Earlier today, I went with to OKC with my very dear friend. We went to lunch, ran a couple of errands and went to Whole Foods Market ... a mark of how old I am when that is a fun destination all on its own!

Special note to Deb: Thank you much for starting this thread this morning & for the gifts of wine, chocolate and song! (I especially liked the songs!)

And, now an Irish toast to each of you. Please lift a figurative glass of your beverage of  choice with me:

There are good ships,

and there are wood ships,

The ships that sail the sea.

But the best ships are friendships,

And may they always be.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I'm with you on trips to Whole Foods, Kelly!  That is definitely "destination shopping" for me and counts as a date night if DH goes with me.  LOL!

It is and does here, too!  That's part of our date night once or twice a month.  When we want to splurge a bit for better, fresher, more variety meats/seafood and cheeses.  Or wine.

I had fresh green beans and new potatoes last night, courtesy of Whole Foods. I stopped just before foundering on them ... and can't wait for dinner time when I can have leftovers!
