I have 5 books requested from the same person, it has been 3 1/2 days and they haven't accepted the requests. if time runs out will my requests rollover to other members? If so I doubt that anyone has all 5 so will requests go out to several members? thanks in advance for any answers! |

Yes, they will roll over to separate orders. I think you can set your account to vacation hold to prevent them rolling over, if that is what you want. |

I don't think vacation hold will keep them from rolling over. That only works if you've posted a WL book and it's about to time out. If you request a book and put your account on vacation, the system assumes you still want that book. Either way you are out the same # of credits, you just aren't saving anyone postage. It's also possible that this person just needs extra mailing time and has every intention of accepting and mailing. But there's no way to PM a requester to say that. |

Ok, well, that's too bad if it rolls over into separate orders but that's the way it works... I don't mind the person taking their time; I'm just too darned curious for my own good sometimes and was wondering how that would work! Thanks for taking time to explain the system. |

That happened to me when I ordered a bunch of books for my son. Six books in one order, someone could have saved a hell of a lot in postage. Instead, it rolled over to 6 different people, with one of the books rolling over an additional 2 times before I finally got it. |

That's really nice to be concerned about saving a member money on postage by ordering multiple books from him/her. I rarely find that a member has more than one book that I want.

+1 Barbara I recently ordered 3 books in a series and couldn't find anyone with more than one of them. So I have one on its way and 2 still 'waiting for member'. Since this series is 10 years old, I'm guessing some of those were posted quite a while ago and the members may be inactive so I will watch these other 2 roll over, perhaps several times, before I get an acceptance for them. |
