From the beauty of 15th century Florence comes the story of Lorenzo and Ginevra. Bound by a love that transcends the rivalry between their families, they share the passons of a dazzling age of reawakening.

This is the same author that was commissioned to write the sequel to Gone With the Wind. I loved her New Orleans Legacy. This one is all in 1400's Italy. Strong characters.

The story itself revolves around a Capulet-Montague-style family feud and a love story between Lorenzo de' Medici and Ginevra Pazzi. The characters are well described and lovable, the scenes are vivid, the ending is heartbreaking, Alexandra Ripley can write romance in a way it never becomes syrupy. If you've enjoyed her other books, you will love this one too. It has everything that made Romeo and Juliet famous, in some ways it is even better because we get to know the characters better.
