I requested a book a few days ago and have no response from the sender. It's set to be timed out tomorrow at 11 PM and my question is what will happen when it gets timed out? Will it just go on automatic request to another member next in line? I didn't want to cancel the request from the orginal sender because I thought I read somewhere that if I re-requested the book, it would just go back to the same member.

I didn't order the book off a specific bookshelf, just ordered the book. I hope this wasn't too confusing!

If it times out and there are more copies in the system, your request will roll over to the next person. If you cancel and re-order, you will go back to the same person again. Allowing the first request to time out will remove that person't book from their shelf. Cancelling will allow their book to stay on their shelf, and their book will still be 1st in FIFO, so you'll probably just get them again.

Thanks, thats what I thought. I was pretty sure I read somewhere to NOT cancel the book because you would just get the same member again. It's so hard to wait five days with no response though! lol

Yeah, I'm in the middle of one of those myself. I ordered two extra books from this person, and it's been days with no apparent activity.

Letting them time out also helps weed out the inactives.  It'll flag the account and if they see other signs of inactivity they'll suspend the account.
