I requested a book at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 21 and today at 11:30 p.m., it's still showing up as "Waiting for Member" and it appears to be the same member. When will it time out so it can be passed along to the next member? This isn't a WL book, just a fun YA book I want to get for my daughter, and it seems as though there are a fair number of copies in the system.

I think I remember seeing somewhere that the rollovers usually occur somewhere around 3:00am Georgia time (or EST)

Most system activity happens around 3am. Since the sender gets 5 full days it would happen the night following that, so its usually more than 5 even days. Your request should time out around 3am tonite.

Thanks! I'll check later tomorrow morning. I know that when I've failed to accept a WL request within the two days, it times out almost immediately after the two days pass.

ETA: Back in November, I was offered a WL book just after 3 p.m. on a Saturday, didn't get the e-mail notification until about 1:30 Sunday morning. By 4 p.m. Monday, the offer was canceled because I hadn't responded in 48 hours. Arrgh!!

There are different deadlines for different activities. You have 48 hours to accept a wish list offer. You have 5 full days plus however many hours until 3:00 AM to accept a request for your book.

Yeah, Cathy! I know that the deadlines are different. I just hate that if you're even an hour off on accepting a WL offer it goes away, but you may have to sit in line through several senders who don't respond over the course of the five days (plus the hours until 3 a.m.) -- even to say they can't send. (And I don't even have any RCs!) I guess I'll just have to be patient.

Waiting for a request to get accepted can get on my nerves. After 3 days I get pretty impatient too. Just don't cancel it, I've made that mistake and had to rewait as it went thru same process with same member a 2nd time around.

Also WL books can be set to auotrequest.  So if you have issues that keep you off the computer multiple days in a row, you can autorequest WL books that you are near the top for and not worry. But book requests to send can't be autorequested.

If you roll your cursor over the grey circle with the exclamation point in it , the date and time for the wait will be revealed
