I use PBS printable postage on my packages, and I was wondering about the timing of the postage increase. If I get a book order on Sunday, and I print out the postage and select Monday as my mailing date, will I have the correct postage on my package?

I generally drop my packages in a blue mailbox, and there's no pickup after 11 am on Saturday until the Monday pickup, so any package that I drop off over the weekend will be picked up on Monday, when the new postage is in effect. I just want to make sure I don't print out a label on Saturday or Sunday with the old postage rate, and drop it in a mailbox, and have it sent back for insufficient postage.

Or maybe I just shouldn't send out any books this weekend!

If your pick Monday as the mail date, it should have the new rate postage on it. If you pick Saturday or Sunday and put it in the collection box before the first pick up, it should be OK. Note the first pick up may be very early Monday. In my area, the box is emptied several times each day and the first time is usually around 7 AM. Mail collected overnight is sent out on the truck that brings the mail to be delivered in the morning and the collected mail goes to the plant to get sorted. Times may vary but I would plan on putting the packages in the box before Monday if using the weekend dates for mailing.

I just tried it with a Monday mailing date, and it still used the OLD rates. I am going to wait until Monday to print my label.
