Hi! (my 1st ever post) Am a volunteer librarian at a Christian school and am updating its old collection.  Any librarians, teachers or parents among you who can recommend to me must-haves?

Am looking at the Newberry lists, but am curious if anyone has specifically Christian books they recommend for k to 9th and particularly 4-8th grade. Thanks!

The Left Behind:  The Kids series is recommended for ages 9 - 12.

Nancy Rue is a Christian author who does kids books. I think she has a couple series for girls and one historical series. The Mandie series is also supposed to be good. Not sure exactly what ages on those. Hope this helps:)

Janette Oke is good. I started reading her when I was 10. I started with her Women of the West series.

Beverly Lewis has a series for preteens. I think the first book is called Summerhill Secrets.

Robert Liparulo's Dreamhouse Kings series. Excellent adventure series for all ages. Highly recommended.

Bill Myer's Bloodstone Chronicles.

Cooper Kids, definitely.

I would also suggest the "Lewis & Clark Squad" series or the "Nathan T. Riggins" series by Stephen Bly, if you can find them. They're not in print any more but they were some of my favorite books when I was that age. I still read the "Lewis & Clark" books every few years!

Sigmund Brouwer's "Accidental Detectives" series was quite good. I only read one or two of them, but I would have read them all multiple times if I could find copies of them!

Check out Wayne Thomas Batson.  He writes some really awesome Christian fantasy and adventure for this age group.
