This is a true story about a young woman in 1927 who goes to a remote Alaskan town to teach. I'm half way through the book and love it!  If you've ever read Mrs. Mike, you will love this book. I think this one is going on my keeper list :)

I read that book many, MANY years ago and remember being profoundly touched by it. I think I was 12 or 13 when my mother gave it to me to read. It is an amazing and inspiring story.

You got me so interested that I had to order the book!  I read Mrs. Mike  when I was 15.  At 55, I still remember how much I liked it.  Imagine my surpise when ordering this book, I found two other Mrs. Mike stories.  I WLed them both.
