I just got it from Amazon today but I still need to read the one previous to it. And I'm also right in the middle of Kelley Armstrong's "Otherworld" series (speaking of - I got "No Humans Involved" today, too!).

So I'll be loaning it to a few friends first. After I read it, then I'll be posting it to share with all the great PBS people!  :)

LOL Ashley, looks like we both just got the same books!

Yes Karen they do. Its a steady progression of character development that you really need to read in order or you will miss something.

I read it.  I'm not sure if I'm tired of reading this series or Ms. Harris is tired of writing it.  I didn't enjoy the book nearly as much as the others.  But that's just my opinion.

I've done the same thing with Janet Evanovich, Joan Hess, Jim Butcher, Laurell K. Hamilton....I rabidly consume everything they write and overdose on them, I guess.

LKH is probably not an OD situation she went crazy and so did Anita.

Yes, I couldn't go the most recent Anita Blake books by LKH and I never got past the first book in her Merri Gentry series either.  Not that I'm a prud, it's just not what I like to read.

LKH has a very interesting blog entry about Father's Day on amazon.com.  I'd been kinda thinking all kinds of negative things about her, but I think she went through a real life-changing time a few years back.  That blog seemed to indicate to me that she was becoming more centered and sure of who she is and what she wants.

We may never get the old Anita books back, but we also may not have to weather another change.  (By the by, I only read the Merry Gentry series these days, no more Anita for me!)

I have to say that the Harlequin was actually decent.  Much better than the previous offerings.

I'm really hesitate to pick the series back up. I loved this series, I read all 11 or so (however many were out at the time) books in 9 days. Then to have it get so bad just broke my heart.

I just got All Together Dead so I'll be reading it soon.

As for LKH any author who badmouths their fans and virtually spits on them loses my buisness.

I just read it.  You know, I'd love for Sookie and Harry Dresden to get together.  They're both such tragic heroes!  :(

Harris's "Grave" series is good. More serious than her "Dead" series.  Just 2 books right now. Grave Sight and Grave Surprise.

Fron the book description:

Harper Connelly has what you might call a strange job: she finds dead people. She can sense the final location of a person who's passed, and share their very last moment. The way Harper sees it, she's providing a service to the dead while bringing some closure to the living-but she's used to most people treating her like a blood-sucking leech. Traveling with her step-brother Tolliver as manager and sometime-bodyguard, she's become an expert at getting in, getting paid, and getting out fast. Because for the living it's always urgent-even if the dead can wait forever.

Jay - I like Harris' Harper Connelly series also.  They aren't paranormal, but Harris also writes two mystery series.  One is about Lily Bard set in Shakespeare, Arkansas and the other is about Aurora Teagarden (librarian/sleuth/etc.).  I like both of those series also, the Bard series the better of the two.

I actually like the Teagarden books better than the Bard books.  LOL  You can tell that they were her earlier work but I like Aurora.  I think it's funny that all her female leads are so similar.  I'd like to know if cleaning is her thing in rl.  LOL

Hey Hayley...I saw this author over on myspace...her books looks really good.  Her name is Jeaniene Frost.  The book is titled "Halfway to the Grave."  I think it is coming either in August or September.   The book cover looks really interesting.

Here is the link:    http://www.myspace.com/jeanienefrost

Loved it - I read them to fast and get sad when I have to say goodbye - esp to Eric. I hope he and Sookie have another one soon enough :)

I just finished All Together Dead this past weekend.  I really enjoyed it.  Although I would have liked to see Quinn more in the book.  Can't wait for the next book to find out what happens next to Sookie and hopefully Quinn.
