It's time again for Top of the Decade lists!

I haven't spent enough time in the genre to make a list but it would be fun to see what our more experienced readers think.

Anyone want to put in their two cents?

I haven't even been reading HF for a decade, so I'll not throw in my $.02, but I will watch this thread as I'm interested to see what the long-time HFers think!  (And no doubt to add many books to my wishlist!)

I've only been reading HF for three or four years as well. I'm afraid many of my top ten would be books written in another decade. Does that disqualify them?

For the sake of flexibility, it can be optional.  The Top Ten HFs you've read during this decade (regardless of publication year)  OR the Top Ten HFs you read that were published in this decade.

Perfect. Top ten (in no particular order) I've read in this decade, but not necessarily published in this decade.

  1. Gone With The Wind
  2. The Far Pavilions
  3. The Sunne in Splendour (or perhaps the Welsh trilogy)
  4. The Count of Monte Cristo
  5. Zemindar Valerie Fitgerald
  6. The Lymond Chronicles Dorothy Dunnett
  7. Forever Amber Kathleen Winsor
  8. A Place Beyond Courage Elizabeth Chadwick
  9. Legacy Susan Kay
  10. The King's General Dapne Du Maurier (Mary Anne a very close second).

Argh! I have no place for Anya Seton. What's a girl to do?
