It's been a few weeks since I've received a book with a problem, but got 2 in one package that were horribly smelly. I think smoke, despite my RC against smoky books due to severe allergy. And one (an old, old yellowed tome that I knew would be well-worn) arrived with a glob of food stuck to the front cover near the spine-- it was sticky and blackened and unrecognizable, but I'm thinking a piece of candy maybe?????

Anyway, when I clicked RWAP and selected the problem with each (I just put the stain down for the old book since the smell could just be mildew from age), it automatically gave me a credit back for the newer book that was WL-- never had that happen before, I  thought I had to wait for sender to "agree" to refund me a credit or I was out of luck.

And the page had more detail telling the receiver what to do--"describe " the problem (by typing in the box as ususal.)  Then for the WL book, it says that I automatically got put back in line.  Sounds like the system suddenly got smarter about RWAPs!!

Jeanne, try clicking on the guy's name.  Is his account suspended or closed by any chance?  I wonder if this is due to a pattern of RWAPs.

It doesn't make sense to me that you'd get the credit back for one book but not for the other, unless the final book triggered the "pattern" or something.  If they've made a change, this is major.  I don't see any changes in the help docs.

Could you check your credit registry and verify that the credit you received was actually for the RWAPd wish list book?

The system has always put you back in line when you RWAP a Wish Listed book. Or, at least, it has for as long as I've been a member. That's not new.

Sara, it wasn't that she was put back in line for the wish list that she was questioning, it was that she had a credit returned to her automatically when she marked it RWAP. If that is the case, it is new or perhaps a glitch unless as Patty suggested, that the person had their account closed.

Jeanne,

Have you checked your credit registry to see if the member was who refunded your credit and not the system?
