A beautifully written native american novel of a Cheyenne warrior woman heroine, Eagle Voice, torn between a warrior man she loves and her duty to her tribe.

Probably the best romantic historical book I have ever read.I,ve read hundreds of books in my lifeincluding alot of silly romance that are totally unrealistic. The heroine in this book in her darkest hours is thin and dirty ,hungry and terrified because of what is happening to her family and her people. She has the love of two men,and in turn loves both of them in different ways. This incredible love story is hauntingly beautiful and unforgettable. The tragedy of the American Indian hits home .It makes one cry.Beverly Bird puts to shame the rest of the romance authors with her realistic historic events and what our society did to a proud people. Please continue to give us more of the same Beverly.
