Toy Dogs Author:Designer: Stephanie Seabrook Hedgepath Cross stitch pattern book. — This is the second in a series of seven design books on dogs, one for each group recognized by the American Kennel Club. This particular book deals with those dogs that are bred with only one purpose in mind, to be a companion, a lap dog, a giver and receiver of love. They were bred to be small and to be devoted to ... more »man. Unlike their larger cousins, they had no specific work to do nothing to guard or herd. They did not have to point out game, or run game to the ground for the master in order to have food for the table. All they had to do was to be pampered and loved, cosseted and petted and all they had to do was to be devoted to their owner in return. I love all dogs, be the purebred or mongrel. Most of my dogs have been from the herding or sporting groups - but I can tell you from experience as the proud owner of a Pomeranian, that the dogs from the toy group fulfill their purpose extremely well! As we were made by God solely to love and worship him, so has the toy dog been developed by man. I can think of no nobler purpose!
