is anyone else having issues with the data in the tracking?  Friday the 13th (this is probably my problem, the stinky gremlins f-d with my info yesterday)  blush anywhoo i mailed lots (11 in 5 packages) of books friday!  I walked them into the post office and watched them be scanned for acceptance, and a few I had to pay for two of them.

These were with printable postage so I already have the credits I'm just confused about the discrepancies.

Going to Nevada Mo 9400110200817018918554 amazingly pbs and usps agree its in Hazelwood MO!

Going to Pheonix Az 9400110200817018918578 PBS has no tracking info for this one but USPS say's its in Hazelwood MO!

Going to Aurora Co 9452110200817018918588 PBS says its been accepted USPS says Not Found?

These I used the DC option but not printable postage because they were pretty heavy and I wanted to make sure they were right:

Going to Tampa Fl 420336349449001699320015766498 only shows info has been received

Going to Louisville KY 420402999449001699320015766504  both pbs and USPS show it in Des Moine IA

Just curious if anyone else is having tracking not picked up on one you know were scanned, and info not matching up with usps and pbs.

Elizabeth, I can only 'presume' that the cities shown are USPS hubs (sorting centers).  I still get packages that aren't scanned until they arrive at my PO for delivery...

I know Anna but I actually stood there watched them get accepted scanned and have the receipt with the tracking number on them.  That's what was weird about it.  Does anyone know if USPS is having any changes this time of year too?

I mailed three packages using DC but not PP and all three of them came back as invalid DC numbers.  The clerk just added $0.23 in stamps to the media mail strip but hasn't been scanned in route yet.  Since the three labels were printed at different dates I submitted feedback.  I may switch to eBay postage for my game books, I was saving $ with the PBS DC ($0.53 versus $1.05 @ the PO) but if the PBS ones aren't going to scan it's a problem and I REFUSE to pay to use the printable postage unless I know I can't get to the post office.

There is a known issue with PBS-DC and some USPS locations.  It seems to be affecting about 10% of transactions.  There should be a resolution by the end of February.

The numbers starting with 9452 will never show up on the "public" side of USPS tracking, but PBS has a way to track them by going to

I think only USPS tracking is the accurate one.  My last 2 books that were ordered it took a while for their locations to show up.

There have been instances where the USPS and PBS servers don't sync up so the tracking information on PBS is blank or very behind.

Wow - sounds like PBS has a batch of numbers that haven't been activated in USPS system(?)...  At least PBS recognizes them for credit purposes.  We can't begin to know the headaches Admin has to deal with.

Elizabeth - no more mailing on Fri 13th!  LOL

I am unable to get USPS tracking information from PBS labels quite frequently.  Our Post Office said their system has been revamped again and they were having a lot of trouble scanning preprinted labels on Thursday.

There was some sort of glitch with USPS last week, but according to USPS it got fixed, so things should be working fine now. Pat

Mary why did it generate a 9452 tracking number, what causes those?  Because it only happened on that one. The first three that I used printable postage on 2 were wl books that I posted and 1 was a book orderd from my shelf.  The 9452 is one of the wl books.  I had known that 9452 numbers were not trackable on USPS but I've never had one generated before so I didn't even notice that one was one.  I'm confused on why only one of mine printed this way, when I did them all the same.

I rechecked them today and it appears pbs is behind on most of them, the USPS still doesn't show the acceptance scan on a few.  So weird.

Anna "Elizabeth - no more mailing on Fri 13th!  LOL" probably a good motto!

9452 are generally media mail books.  The rest look like First Class numbers.

Yep that makes sense that was the larger of the three the others were all under 7 oz.  LOL well now I will know, at least on that one and can watch out for those 9452 #'s!

Carol I feel ya!  I usually don't have problems with tracking so that's why I came here to ask!  I will say I did save money on 2 of the 3 because 2 came up with the discounted first class mailing those at the po would have been more expensive.  Its easier if I have pbs money to do the printable postage, I was just too lazy to add more money to cover the last two and I really wanted to make sure the weight was right.  I think my scale might be off on larger numbers because my labels amount I should affix is off verse what the post office says I need to pay.  Smaller packages seem to be find but if I add over a lb I get a problem.  A new scale should probably be in my future!
