I hope this topic isn't off limits here, but I don't know where else to ask.

I am trying to shift my usage entirely to PBS. I was first a member of Frugal Reader (had never heard of PBS), but now heavily favor PBS for many reasons. Unfortunately, I have some FR credits I want to trade for PBS credits, and I'm having no luck. On the FR boards, people are trading these all the time, but I'm noticing that they always are giving away FR credits and trying to GET PBS credits. I thought I'd look on PBS for similar trading going on, but haven't seen any.

Is this something that is not allowed on PBS?

I was hoping for an even trade, but evidently I'm going to have to shortsell just to get some PBS credits, which tells me that PBS credits are HOT (and FR credits are not).

Please don't flame me if I brought up a sore subject!

Only thing you can trade on PBS are PBS books.     Sorry - and no need to flame you - it's a legit question.

If you go on the Book Bazaar forum, you can post something like, "I'm interested in trading to get PBS credits.  Please PM me."  Wait until the PM exchange to mention the other site's credits.  It's perfectly fine to do this.

Can I sell my credits to other members? (This is true for selling and buying)

Cozi is correct, you cannot offer/trade anything other than PBS books for credits. This is Richard's previous post in this subject:

All right, here is the PBS Team word on this.

You can sell your PBS Credits here.  (And this should be done in the Book Bazaar, not this Forum.)

You cannot sell anything else.

That means that [removed name], you could have posted "Anyone want to sell me some credits?  Contact me by PM if so," and then in Personal Messages explained what you are willing to pay.  But you should not post a topic selling anything for credits.  If in PM negotiations anyone was willing to accept the currency of another site for PBS credits, then you could make the exchange.

It is a small point, but there you have it.  Don't hawk your wares (whatever they are) for credits.   But you can ask if anyone is looking to sell credits, and negotiate payment with them privately.

We are sure someone else will find a way to do the above inappropriately somehow, and we will hear from members again asking us to clarify, but for now this is the ruling.

I am on FR too and what you need to do is go to the forums on FR (Wheel & Deal) and post there if you haven't already.  don't expect to get a 1 for 1 trade.  more like 1 PBS for 2 FR.
