I came down with the flu Monday night.  I had 2 books to mail and forgot.  I literally have not left the bed all week. I feel terrible about the book that cancelled.  I have one I can safely mail today and feel well enough to do it.  It will not cancel.

Can I re offer the cancelled book?  Can I send it without a credit to the original wisher?  I feel bad.

Thanks

Gwen - The only thing you can do is post the book again.

If there's another copy posted of this book, the system automatically passed the request to the next person in line when you request was cancelled so the requestor is already getting a copy of the book. However, once you post yours it will go to the back of the FIFO line.

If the book is wishlisted, then it may be offered to the same person if nobody else has posted a copy of the book already.

Hope you're feeling better Gwen.  At this point, it's best to move on and not confuse the FIFO system by trying to save the cancelled transaction.  Just repost the book.  You might check and see if it's offered to the same person, and if so you could then pm and explain that you have been ill and the book really will be mailed soon.

Nothing to add to that good advice except pouring some chamomile tea through my USB port for you.  (It has a soporific effect!  devil)  Feel better soon!

If possible I'd PM the person who got the cancelled transaction and explain what happened.  Illness can't be helped :(

Then repost the book.

Hope you're feeling better soon. Have some chicken soup and just repost the book when you're feeling up to visiting the mailbox.

I had a book cancel this morning. I'm #1 on WL for it now (it was the only copy in the system). I'd repost it if I were you, you might end up sending it to the same person. You don't have to feel bad. If you notice it's the same person, you can PM them and let them know you'll send it this time and that unforeseen circumstances prevented the first transaction from completing.

Thanks all, I sent a note, then reposted.  They reordered and it was mailed already.

Found out I have severe vertigo, not the flu so my reading is stopped until I  can see the Dr who treats it.  GRRR.

Oh Gwen I'm so sorry. Vertigo is miserable. I hope that the doctor can figure out what's causing it and that it goes away fast!!!

I'm glad that the book situation worked out well!

Feel better!

Gwen,

You don't have the flu. You have a single malt Scotch whiskey deficiency.  Take two shots and call me in the morning.

Actually, a British medical study proved that people who drink moderately live healthier due to the fact that alcohol in the bloods kills bacteria and viruses.
