Mark's solo camping trip in the desert turns into a thrilling and terrifying odyssey when a mysterious beam of light transports him to another time on what appears to be another planet.
As Mark searches for a pathway back to his own time on Earth, he must make a new life in a new world. His encounters with primitive tribes bring the joy of human bonds, but violence and war as well - and, finally, a contest in which he discovers his own startling powers.
This is soooo NOT a childrens-only book, I read alot of different things
and I am middle-aged and I enjoyed it very much.
Some folks think the T.A. Barron and C.S. Lewis books are children's
books too, but they are wonderful reading IMO even for a well-read
college educated adult as long as the person has an open mind.
This is a sort of gentle action book, and though I believe it's ending
could have been much better, it was a worthwhile read for me.

I could not get into this book at all. I thought it was very boring.
