Wowza! I am really in love with this new writing style from Irene Hannon! I have long enjoyed her books but I felt like they were all starting to sound the same. The characters were almost the same, plots were pretty much alike, etc. But this one goes way out of her normal style and I can't tell you how much I liked. it.

Trapped deals with a girl who runs away from home and then gets in with someone she never thought she would. Her parents are both dead but her sister instantly searches for her. Needless to say, Darcy thinks her sister, Laura, is too strict and she could be doing a lot more in her life. Of course, she is only sixteen and we all know what happens when teenagers end up on the streets.

So when Darcy disappears, Laura ends up hiring Pheonix Private Investigators and the person who helps her is Devlin. An irish red head who happened to be former ATF. He is handsome as all get out but also has a lot of guilt over something in his past. Needless to say, the sparks fly and they feel the attraction but the firm has a rule about dating clients so the relationship will have to wait until Darcy is found. The only problem is, Darcy is not be found and the leads are quickly disappearing. Will they find her before it is too late? And what will happen when the kidnapper comes after Laura?

Again, this is a great story and I really loved the characters and the plot drew me in right away. Finished in two days and can't wait for the next one!! Do we get to possibly see Connor tie the knot? Guess I will have to sit in anticipation:)

I received a copy of this book for my review purposes. I did not receive any monetary compensation.

Its a cold night in January when the reader picks up this novel and immediately feels that creepy, here-comes-the-mystery beginning. There is an eerie feeling to every good suspense novel where the story just gets started and you know the villain is right around the corner youre sure of it. And its all downhill from there

I wasnt too sure about the suspense level in this one, to be completely honest could the premise be sustained through almost 400 pages? It didnt really kick into high gear until about 2/3 of the way through the book, but boy, when it did, I couldnt put it down. I finished the last 150 pages within one evening; it just kept getting better.

Our villain had to be one of the more deceitful villains Ive read in a novel for some time. There were times as a reader, I knew this guy had to be the one, but on the flip side, I couldnt marry the two in my mind. Great story crafting for sure!

Dev and Laura are a truly interesting couple, forced into a situation that no one wants to be in the middle of: kidnappings. Romance. Murder. Chilling cold. I felt it all. The second book with the second detective in the Phoenix agency is a worthwhile readbut be prepared to burn the midnight oil to keep reading until the very end

This review is my honest opinion. Thanks to the publishers for my copy to review.

Laura Griffith is a librarian whose quiet life changed when she gained custody of her sixteen-year-old sister, Darcy. Darcy thinks Laura has too many rules, so she leaves a note and decides to strike out on her own. She was suppose to take the bus to a friends in Chicago but a snowstorm delays her. She makes her way to a homeless shelter where she meets Mark Hamilton. Laura decides to hire PI James 'Dev' Devlin to help track down Darcy. Dev finds a couple of leads but it seems Darcy has disappeared. Dev knows with teen runaways, time is of the essence, but the deeper that Laura and Dev dig, the more Dev's gut tells him something very strange is going on. But will he figure it out before 'strange' turns to 'deadly'?

Trapped is a chilling, edge-of-your-seat, hard-to-put-down thriller that you will not want to miss! In Vanished, (book 1), we've gotten acquainted the folks at Phoenix, Inc., and although this story really revolves around Dev, you'll find all the players present. I thoroughly enjoyed the close camaraderie and banter they share. It's fun. Dev was a great guy and I liked how the author allowed the reader to hear what he was thinking. Laura was a great lady that I enjoyed getting to know. Together they had lots of chemistry. I must say that the villain in this story was really creepy and provided for some very intense moments. Whew! I liked how Laura's faith not only made a difference in her life but in the lives of others as well. Trapped is book two in the Private Justice series and my favorite so far. If you enjoy Dee Henderson, Anne Patrick or Lynette Eason then you would definitely enjoy this series. Now I'm looking forward to reading Deceived when it comes out.
