In this classic novel, "Henry Pulling, a retired bank manager, meets his septuagenarian Aunt Augusta for the first time in over fifty years at what he supposes to be his mother's funeral. Soon after, she persuades Henry to abandon Southwood.." and the story just gets better and better.
What a zany romp! a fun read.
A departure for the author of the The 3rd Man.
This book seems quite dated in how it deals with race and in its references to hippies. It is a little morally unbelievable in its portrayal of how a sedate retired banker gets pulled into a world of criminality. For a better work by this author I'd try The Power and the Glory instead.
