Is anyone else getting excited about this new show on HBO? True Blood is a new show that is suppose to premiere sometime in Jan. on HBO. The show is based on Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse books. I hear that they have filmed 3-4 episodes but have halted production temporarily due to the writers strike but are still planning on the Jan. premiere. I can't wait to see it! |

I'm tooooo excited about this!!!! I'm really hoping that they will put it on HBO on demand as well! And on some shows they even put the pilot on Demand a few days before it airs on regualr TV! Hopefully it won't be on the same time that I have 2 other shows on because my DVR will only record 2 shows at once :-( |

Is the show following the books exactly? I've only read book 1 but I have 2 on the way. |

From what I've read about the show it isn't exactly following the books. The characters are the same but with different story and plot lines which I think is great...you get the books and the shows! Last Edited on: 12/11/07 12:18 AM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Ditto! I can't wait and I'm adding HBO only for this. I think Charlaine Harris' new series starting with "Grave Sight" is also superb. If you haven't read them (3 in series now), I highly recommend them. Each of her series seems to get better and better.

Definitely - I was wondering when that was going to happen...no spoilers here :-) ...worth waiting for. I read Ice Cold Grave, and then reread it immediately!

Have read that it is being rumored to air in March. Not sure I like Anna Paquin as Sookie. |

I'm not sure if I like Anna as Sookie either. But I honestly can't think of any actress that meets my image of her, and Anna is an excellent actress! |

IMO, Anna Paquin is borderline cute and Sookie in my mind is someone MUCH MUCH more prettier than Anna. I've only finished book 3 Club Dead but the way all these hunky vamps and Weres are fawning over Sookie, I just can't see that happening with Anna. |
