This was a very graphic and stark novel about a young man dealing with his sexuality and the aftermath of being molested. I will warn you that it is NOT a happy coming of age story in the least and I under no circumstances will trade it with anyone under the age of 18.

A very disturbing and worthwhile read. The world presented in "Try" is bleak and violent, with no redemption or solace for its characters. Cooper's writing style is anarchic and may leave readers frustrated with his unwillingness to conform to the rules of grammar.

Readers beware, this book is extremely and unapologetically explicit when dealing with both sex and violence. Not recommended for those with weak stomachs.
