You have to post it without an ISBN. Publisher's frequently reuse ISBN #'s. They aren't tied to  a specific book.  They buy the #'s in blocks and then reuse them to save money.  Whatever book gets into PBS first with the ISBN is the one that stays.

it is very possible that someone posted that book with the wrong ISBN.  when I put that ISBN here and look up the title and then put that title into www.worldcat.org, then it pulls up these ISBNs  1552547361 9781552547366

it is possible that HQN put the wrong ISBN on the book when printing.

this needs to go to one of the people that approve changes to the book details (book data correction group) to look in to but it is possible they won't change it.  I had one that I'm pretty sure my ISBN was correct but they wouldn't change it and I refused to post it as if there were no ISBN.  but that was me.

what are the 4 and 5 digit numbers that are sometimes posted on books when you look them up on search?????  and can the number over the small bar code be used to listed books?????  the number on the Diana Palmer book is 51695

look inside the book cover.  sometimes the number on the back cover does not match the one on the copyright page.

Robin,

I checked they match, just my luck.  I hate to list books without isbn it is a pain in the butt, when you look and see 4 others have the book listed all under different numbers

The 5 and 6 digit numbers are the ones that PBS assigns when you use the post without an ISBN option. You cannot pick the number that is used when the ISBN can't be used-the system generates it, and we are not supposed to re-use the short ISBNs when posting unless we are reposting the specific copy of the book that it was originally generated for.

When you run into situations like yours where the ISBN has been reused, there will usually be a bunch of the short ISBNs listed since a new one is generated for every copy that is posted correctly.

sorry- it was a thought.  To be hones I have entered a few without ISBN  and they were requested.  Make sure you have the cover uploaded, IMO it helps a lot.  If you need help with that - let me know - I think I have that book so I can definitely upload the image for you.

I am going to look into this.  I just did a google search and Diana Palmer book cover shows up but it has the title that shows up on PBS.   Then other sites are listing the ISBN you provided as a Diana Palmer book.  Give me some time to nose around tonight and I will PM you later?

When you google it, 9/10 come up with the Palmer book. But if you look at Fictiondb...it shows several printings of the other book with a variety of ISBNs, showing that one as the last printing of the book as a HQN in 2006.

I think you'll be fine posting it w/o, especially with a picture. If one of the listings already has a picture, you can easily purloin it, expand it to the largest size, right click, save picture as - and you've got it. You move a lot of romances, and people are familiar with the author - it will get ordered.

I actually sent this to the team.  WorldCat.org is showing the above ISBN associated with Diana Palmer and Tangled Desitines with ISBN 9781552547366.  If you go to the description page on PBS with the above ISBN number and click on Buy now from Amazon - you will be purchasing the Diana Palmer book.  Albiris lists Diana Palmers book  and doesn't have any ISBN associated with Tangled Destinies just their ID number.  Libraray of Congess doesn't have either listed.

Since there are wishers on the book, I doubt they will change the title unless it can be shown that the book had a title change and that is why it should be changed. I've never seen them willling to change title or binding unless WL and FIFO were empty, otherwise it could be a major surprise to a wisher wanting a different book or a poster who gets request for a book they don't have because the name was changed after they listed it.
