About the Author
Eddie Doherty had it all: money, fame, women, power. He lived hard and fast as a newspaper reporter, pursued the most exciting events of the world. He was twice married, twice left a widower, father of two sons. This amazing man -- fiercely competitive professional, passionate lover, cosmopolitan traveller, enjoyer of the good things in life -- left the Catholic Church in fury and pain; returned later in tears of joy. Eddie loved and married a third time to the exotic Russian baroness, Catherine de Hueck. But then for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, sacrificed it all to become poor. He and Catherine made promises of poverty, chastity, and obedience and co-founded Madonna House Apostolate in a tiny village in rural Ontario. He died a priest of the Melkite Catholic Church.
