The book is an account by various individuals, called "Tunnel Rats" involved in the clearing of Viet Cong tunnel complexes during the Vietnam War. This book was required reading for a Vietnam/ Korean War class I took in college. Overall it's a very good telling of what these soldiers (American. Australian, and Viet Cong) went through.

My husband read this book. He's not a big reader, but found it so interesting he couldn't put it down.

One of the most remarkable but little known campaigns of the Vietnam War was foufgt inside the 200 miles of secret tunnel networks around Saigon between Viet Cong guerrillas and special forces known as "Tunnel Rats."

Fascinating - and at times terrifying - factual account of the largely unknown "tunnel rats". Dropping into tight, dark holes in the ground where the enemy could be waiting to attack you, fighting in cramped, black, and poorly ventilated tunnels - this was the daily lot of the tunnel rats.

Very well written, compelling stories that you won't hear about anywhere else. I couldn't put down this book.
