Is there a way to turn off the PBS marketplace for myself? It really throws my wishlist order off because it puts those first. Also the emails annoy me.

1) Resort your WL using one of the criteria other than PBS Market.

2) Go to "My Account" and then "Settings." Scroll down to "Email Settings" and check the boxes of the emails that you do not want to receive.

But even if you resort your WL by another criteria, it bumps the PBS Market back up at times.

I have to resort by title several times a month.

Irritating!

I hate this on the WL too.  How can I get it to sort so that the PBS stuff all isn't up first??????

I guess that's really my question. If I sort my wishlist by estimate... PBS marketplace stuff shows up first. I don't want it to.

no likey!

Not sure why but mine stays sorted by whatever criterion I've last used.

I want to sort by availability.

I assume it think that PBS stuff is ?available? so they all come up first.  Then I have to actually read through them to see what is available in 1 week which might be next to a book that is available in 254 weeks.  It really makes the availability sort useless.

Oh, I'm glad someone else doesn't like this.  I hate that I can no longer see when I might expect books becaue the PBS market screws up the order so much.  Resorting doesn't seem to fix it anymore - PBS market stuff ALWAYS is at the top.

I notice any time I browse the PBS marketplace, PBS resorts my WL by Marketplace availability.  I have to reset it to the sort I like.  If you don't click on the Marketplace at all, your WL should stay how you want it unless you dump all your cookies.  That would reset it to the default setting which I bet is Marketplace availability.

The reason your sorting doesn't "stick" is that PBS keeps a cookie that shows how the lists are supposed to be sorted ... and every time you clean your browser cache, you will notice that all your sorts are gone. If your browser is set to automatically clean the cache when you close it ... your sorting will never stick.

I sort my WL by Estimate ... and here is what it does:

1. any books with an estimate of 1 week are listed first, but

2. next come all the books available in the PBS market, regardless of estimated time, and then

3. next come the rest of the books, sorted by estimate of 2 weeks and above.

I'm having this problem too.  I like to sort my WL like the OP... by estimate.  But the MarketPlace books are always on top.  I never browse in the Marketplace.  And it doesn't seem to matter if I've left my cookies alone for a long time or clean them out.  IMO, I think it's a default PBS thing... they want you to choose PBS to support the site.  Just a tiny bit of forced advertising kind of if you think about it.  I'm all for supporting the site, I LOVE PBS... but I want it to be my choice... don't want it staring me in the face every time I go to my WL.

Add me to the list that finds this somewhat annoying.  I do like knowing which books may be available in the marketplace, but not when I'm sorting my wishlist books by estimate to see what might be coming my way shortly.
