JAKE TURNER WAS A MAN OF SECRETS
And even a woman he'd saved from a Crow massacre couldn't be privy to his true mission. But Emma Lancing was a woman of surprises, blossoming like a cactus rose during their arduous trek through the Western wilderness. Resourceful, brave and beautiful, she alone made him question his solitary life by proving to be the perfect partner for his adventerous soul!
Emma Lancing's only escape from an abusive, hopeless future lay in trusting a man who made it clear she was not welcome in his world. Even so, she was drawn to Jake Turner's rugged fearlessness and independent spirit, which stirred in her unrealized strengths and undreamt-of passions!

I enjoyed reading this book.I like the Historical Romance and this is what this book is.It is about Emma Lancing being rescued from a crow massacre but Jake Turner wanted nothing more to do with her after he rescued her but then everything changes.

Great old fashioned western romance
Emma Lansing was saved from a Crow massacre by a solitary man she comes to trust and wishes to stay with so she doesn't have to return to an abusive situation. An American Historical Romance.

Just read a 4.5 star Harlequin Historical: Turner's Woman by Jenna Kernan. Should have been named "Emma's Big Adventure". Big adventure story of the west before the wagon trains started the great European migration to the west. While California was still part of Mexico in the south and Northern CA was part of Russia. She ends up on a spy trip for President Andrew Jackson with a hunk of a surveyer who just happens to speak 8 or 9 languages fluently........It is very good. Dumb name, great romance read.
