I had to turn down an RC because they wanted a book with no creases or damage to the book cover as well as the book. ( Not in a smoking home and no ex-library) My 20 year old book is pristine; the cover is not. I have seen some picky RC's and if my book complies I have no trouble sending the book. But this is a 20 year old book, LOL. Just shaking my head and wondering . |

Could be they want it for a gift or their keeper shelf. Turn it down and forget it; that's the best thing to do. |

One of the very first requests I got was for an out of print 20 yr old romance novel that had a long WL line. The first wisher had an RC demanding only "new, mint condition" books. I wonder if they ever got it because as far as I know it's still out of print 4 yrs later. I imagine mint conditions ones areN'T posted here very often. LOL Mary, I get a lot of really mint condition books and I have no RC. But a good book worth a read gets its' cover scuffed. I am not worried about the loss of the transaction. I know they use the same RC for every request, but if you want an old book?. LOL |

I have a lot of old books with no creases, the only thing wrong with them is age discoloring. One of the things I do after our book sale is go through all the paperbacks looking for just those books. Can't meet the RC, just say so and let their request go to someone else. With over 300000 members here, there are plenty of possibilities for them to get what they want. |

The whole point of the RC being anonymous is that we get to have guilt free turn downs. Just be polite in the reason stated! |

Just turned down two books requested from me because of an "Excellent Condition" RC. I just simply wrote the RC was too subjective. No big deal. -RD |
