After reading about Jameson Bryant, taken in by vampires as a young boy and raised by them, and later finding him in a story as a vampire, it was good to finally find the story that told of his crossing over. This trade-sized paperback is not easy to come by, but worth lookig for.

Old friends from previous novels made me feel at home in the Twilight world and Ms. Shayne always writes a good book, though I favor her vampire stories. This book also tells the story of the unusual conception and birth of Amber Lily, a legend among the vampires as she is the only child ever born to a vampiress.

To fill out the book, a shorter story has been added, telling the tale of Jane Cuylar and her former DPI pursuer-turned-lover, Ramsey, who has the antigen that will allow him to become a vampire, but does not know it.

Together, these stories give the reader more details about the vampire mythos in the Twilight world and the DPI organization that hunts them, along with a couple of good love stories.

Two from Shayne's "Wings in the Night" vampire series. "Born in Twilight" brings together Jameson Bryant and Angelica. Through a government experiment, the two have a baby and must come together to rescue her. "Beyond Twilight" is a shorter story about Agent Ramsey Bachman who pursues and ultimately falls for vampire Cuyler Jade. I have to say I'm not usually a fan of vampire fiction, but I did enjoy these and look forward to reading more.

I have just really started reading the Wings in the Night Series, but this one by far was my favorite. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!

In this particular book however there are two stories. It would be the one called 'Born in Twilight' which I thought best. It summed everything up from the first 4 books (yes, that's right 4, I'll explain that in a sec). Honestly she could have ended the series right there and all would have been well in the world. But no, she wrote more (I have a lot more to read, but that's ok).

Now I want to make a special note about this book, if you read THIS book, read the last story first. It is called 'Beyond Twilight'. It was originally in an anthology. But to read them in order, start there. It makes sense when you read it. That is why I said 4 books.

I am very stingy when it comes to my ratings, but I gave this one 4 1/2 stars.

Also, here is a list if you want to read them in order (please note, you do not have to follow this list, this is what I found to be the most accurate time line). I have Omnibus listed, but you should be able to find most in singles if so desire:

Wings in the Night Omnibus of: 1. Twilight Phantasies 2. Twilight Memories 3. Twilight Illusions
At Twilight Omnibus of: 4. Beyond Twilight 5. Born in Twilight
7. Twilight Hunger
8. Embrace the Twilight
Two by Twilight Omnibus of: 9. Run From Twilight 6.Twilight Vows (this was an older story, another anthology, reissued in this book, hints the name Two by Twilight)
10. Edge of Twilight
11. Blue Twilight
12. Prince of Twilight
13. Demons Kiss
14. Lover's Bite
15. Angel's Pain
16. Bloodline
These are also part of the story in a spinoff series called Children of Twilight:
1. (or 17.) Twilight Prophecy
2. (or 18.) Twilight Fulfilled

First off, you got to read the second smaller story of Ramsey Bechman & Cuyler Jade's fast love story before Jamey and Angelica's story of a larger scale, when DPI finds out mortal Chosen men and get newly turned female vamps pregnant and they found a way and and Jamey was captured again and collected 'samples' and found a newly turned Nun Angelica and used her for their means. Will will see the whole gang come together towards the end of Born at Twilight. But still a great read.

This was another great book by Shayne. She continues to write excellent books in the "Wings in the Night" series. I love the added background and history along with a more indept look at characters you have met in earlier books.
