Very good story! Not sure why it says 'young adult' because the subject matter appealed to me! This book is told in 1st person alternating between the main woman and the main guy which may irritate some; it didn't bother me at all. A group of misfits become family and come together to help deal with a problem in their community. This is one of the few authors I've read and enjoyed that didn't include sex in their books. The 'sex' was at the end and behind the scenes so to speak. Other authors this reminds me of are Debbie Macomber, Curtiss Ann Matlock, and some of Sherrly Woods'. The basic them of starting over and finding herself reminded me of the theme of the now discontinued Harlequin Next titles except the female was still pretty young in this story.

I enjoyed this book very much. I liked the setting and the people in the book. It was a little bit different from her usual books and I like the idea of a different style of book from this author.

This is the first book I have read by Jodi Thomas. My mom LOVES her writing so I thought I would give this a shot. My mom really liked the book. I wasn't too sure, though. I thought it started out kind of slow, but my mom told me to hang in there. I am glad I did. The storyline picked up and I couldn't put the book down. Great read!! I will read more by her definitely!!

A couple of years ago, I read this book and was unimpressed. For some reason, I decided to read this book again. Perhaps the last time I was in a brain-fog -- because this time I was bowled over by the beauty of the story.

TWISTED CREEK is a love story, a mystery and most importantly, a story about creating a life worth living in a community. Sometimes one small incident in our life can add profound meaning to our existence. This is a beautifully told narrative; the story unfurls slowly so we can savor each moment.

Allie Daniels and her grandmother, Nana, have lived on the edge of poverty for a long time. At 26, Allie has all but given up dreaming about a better future. Suddenly, a letter arrives that changes the 2 womens lives; Allie has inherited some property from an uncle she didnt know she had.

Living close by Allies property (an old country store and bait shop) is Luke Morgan. Hes strange and uncommunicative most of the time. He knew the uncle who left the property to Allie and is sure he was murdered; Luke has taken time off from his job to find out. The most likely suspect is the new owner, Allie.

Slowly, a group of isolated individuals emerges from lodges around the lake to partake in Allies first Sunday night restaurant supper. Each person sits at his/her own table. As things start happen around the lake, the individuals start to work together.

Jodi Thomas outdid herself with this lovely story.

I love this book. The main character and her grandmother are just brought to life by Jodi Thomas. I felt like I knew them personally, and each person they meet throughout the book mostly just blend right in, except for a few who take "convincing" before they believe that they can blend in. It's a great read for anyone who enjoys country life.

Bad luck has been biting at Allie Daniel's heels all her life, so when she inherits a cafŽ in a small Texas lake community she's sure there's a catch. But Allie decides to move and brings her grandmother along, since the cafŽ gives Nana a chance to do what she loves best-cook. As Allie settles in, she soon discovers that she's not alone anymore-and that sometimes, the only cure for bad luck is gaining the courage to love.

I liked this book with its strong female characters and heavy Texas drawl. Jodi Thomas knows a winning formula and rarely strays from it. Her books are consistent, well-written, with twists and turns you don't always see coming. This was an enjoyable read.

Absolutely delightful. Never a boring page - a close knit community comes together and solves a crime.
