I just received an pm from someone whom I sent  a book to.  She says the book is to come from someone else so she will be getting another book of the same.  This happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I just kept the second book and gave credit because I didn't know what to do.

Is there a glitz in the program?  She didn't even have my name list to receive the book from I guess I won't be getting a credit for the book.  I had her listed to send the book to  otherwise I wouldn't have gotten her address.  What should we do about this problem?

I would check in with a TG or the PBS team about it.  Especially if it's the 2nd time.  Have you checked your Communications Archive and emails?

Ruth

ETA - if this is a glitch it could be serious and needs to be addressed by the PBS team

Are you marking your books mailed?

It's possible that someone else didn't mark the book mailed and so it passed the request to you.  If that's the case then she needs to mark your book received.

If you didn't mark the book mailed on time then she doesn't owe you a credit.  You have to mark books as mailed or the system assumes that you didn't mail the book out and reorders it from someone else.

Well if you marked your book mailed then it was the person before you that didn't.  She has to mark your book received.  She didn't have to mark the other book as received since they didn't follow the rules.  She shoujld be out 2 credits for 2 books when she only wanted one and you should be out a credit when you followed the rules.  If she chooses to mark the 1st one recieved and give a credit for that one also then that's her choice.  If the other  person had contacted her sooner she might have been able to cancel the order from you in time.

Weird.  The same thing sort of happened to me this week.  I received a request and printed the wrapper the next day.  2 hours later, she pm'd me thanking me for receving the book. Then she said that the system wouldn't let her give me credit.  I let her know that it wasn't me because I hadn't mailed  the book yet.  She never pm'd me back so I canceled the order and lost my place in FIFO.

Jenn -- if that ever happens again, you should use the Contact Us link at the bottom of the screen and ask the PBS Team for help. Since you canceled, the request got forwarded along to another sender, and the requestor could still end up with two copies. If you ask the Team to do it, they can put the book back on your shelf and prevent the request from going to a new sender.

Do you still have the book in your Books I've Mailed tab? If you have then she will need to mark your book as received regardless of whether she gave the previous sender a credit through her Transaction Archive. The order that is active in the En Route tab is the one she has to mark received. Any that have timed out and are off of that page are optional. If yours is the transaction in her TA instead of the active tabs, then she does not have to give you credit.
