Anyone ever see this one before? I got a book today on 5/15/2010. The printable postage on the package says it was mailed (printed?) on 05/17/2010. Am I dreaming that this book came? :) Last Edited on: 5/15/10 3:39 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Well online postage expires and is supposed to be used within 48hrs. So my guess is that they weren't sure when they'd get it wrapped and mailed but wanted to print the label then. Maybe they've had books come back for expired postage and so now choose a postage date of a couple of days later. Maybe they have no blue box or mail box that will take a book and so have to go into the PO to mail in the bin but weren't sure how soon they'd get there. |

My books are mailed by family members and I can't always know when they will do that or where. Some of our Blue Boxes don't get picked up but twice a week. So I pad the postmark date on the printable postage so that the books will be covered whenever they get mailed/picked up. Ruth |

I bet they initially said 5/17 was the date they could mail it...which means when they go to print the postage, the default date that comes up will be 5/17. They probably forgot to change the date when they printed the label (earlier than anticipated) so even if they mailed it on 5/13, it must have gotten through the postal system okay with the later date.
