What a wonderful book! It was so good we couldn't wait to buy and read his other book "Among The camps", it was just as good. Thomas Nelson Page was a little boy during the Civil War, so who better to learn from about that time in our history. He writes so well its as if your really feeling what it was like in Ol'Virgina during this time. I have to admit we spent a lot of extra time at the breakfast table unable to stop reading this book, it was always "just one more chapter mom, please!" And what a wonderful lesson about loving you enemies. I have so many favorites, but this is definitely at the top of that list.
