I know others have raved about this book, but I found the heroine tedious, and the story boring. I think I am one of the few who didn't like it though.

Excellent book. I like how Carlyle portrayed both Quin and Viviana as flawed. They both made bad decisions in the past and now have to deal with them.

Book 2. in the Sins, Lies, Secrets Trilogy. Three dissolute rakes have their fortunes told. They are told that their sins of the past are going to catch up with them. That they will have to makes things right. In Bk2, Lord Wynnwood, has his "chick" come home to roost.

Oh, I loved this story which begins in London, 1821. The "Two Little Lies" are told by Viviana Alessandri and Quinten Hewitt when they each denied that they loved each other. "Tell me something, my dear," he said quietly. "Do you love me?"....."No, Quin. I do not love you. And you do not love me." He looked at her and said, "No, I suppose I do not." Those two little lies changed both their lives forever........

Two star-crossed lovers will not admit - to themselves, or to each other - that they love one another. I like the author tremendously, but this was not one of my favorites.

Handsome scoundrel Quin Hewitt has been living a devil-may-care existence in London for years. But when his father dies unexpectedly, Quin finds himself saddled with an earldom he never wanted, a country estate that seems to suck the very life out of him, and a mama who wont quit crying. Reluctantly, Quin faces up his family duty, and decides to find himself a sensible, suitable wife so he can beget a sensible, suitable heir. And who better to marry than his best friends governess, the proud and pretty Miss Esmée Hamilton?

But when Quins euphoric mother throws an impromptu betrothal party, Quin finds himself faced with a very unexpected guest. The beautiful Viviana Alessandri has been called by duty back to England, the land she loathes. No longer the unknown opera singer Quin once kept as his mistress, Viviana is now the powerful Contessa Bergonzi di Vicenza, worshiped throughout Europe for her voice and her passion. But despite her new title and wealth, to Quins eyes, his old love has not changed. She is not suitable. She is not sensible. And she still takes his breath away.
Great book

Fun read with very unusual characters. My favorite of the series, but not for anyone who wants their heroines young and virginal.

Two Little Lies is Quin and Viviana's story. It is a beautiful story that involves intrigue, misunderstandings, and a very explosive passion. Nine years ago, Viviana ended their relationship by fleeing the country. Quin was devastated, but he didn't know that Viviana hid a life-changing secret when she left.

Now Viviana is back in England and Quin is engaged to be married. When Quin's engagement is broken, will Quin and Viviana be able to get past all of the hurt and misunderstandings that stand between them?

I spent a lot of time wondering if Quin and Viviana would reconcile their past. It was well worth the wait to see how the story ended. All of the emotions in the story, felt real. It was a great read and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, heartwarming story!

This is a good book. It is in a time that having a baby would shame her and her family and having to marry someone you don't love is even worse. It keeps you reading til you find out what will happen next.

Young lovers reunited just as the hero is engaged to another. She is a widow with three small children, one who looks like his sister.

Second in the trilogy. This one is about young love thwarted early, then given another chance later. Great read!
