Yes, It's happened to me 2 or 3 times.  Both sending and receiving.  It eventually worked out although it took a very long time for one.

It has happened to me as well--and it is frustrating.  In one of my cases, the book finally arrived for the receiver  (with no explanation) about 6 weeks after going lost.  So, you never know.

FWIW, I don't think books go lost very often.  I've only had it happen to me twice, compared to many successful swaps.  So maybe now you've paid your "dues" on lost books for a while.

Once. It was mailed to a military address. It was reported as lost, but showed up a couple days later.

I had a book that was "lost" show up a couple of months later.  What was weird is the postmark showed that the person actually mailed it on the date they said they did!  It must have been hanging out the post office or the dead letter office for awhile or something!

I recently had two books that I had ordered go lost in the mail. Both were mailed around the same time. I received a pm from one of the senders saying that she had received notification from Pittsburgh that they had found the wrapping from the book, but no book. I never heard a word from the other sender. Prior to that I had only one other book lost in limbo. It finally showed up after 41 days.

I know, what a bummer.  I've only had it happen once...but of course it was a multiple request so I actually lost two books!  They were pretty unique and WL books too wouldn't you know....

The requester and I hoped they would eventually show up but it's been almost 6 mo. and no sign of them!

I'm (in a wierd way) glad to here that it has happend to others. It makes me feel a little less guilty. I kinda felt like mybe I'd done something  wrong.  And of course i am kinda bumed about the loss of the 3 credits.

I once received a book three months after it was mailed. There was nothing about the package to indicate why it took so long to get to me. It and the book were in perfect condition. The sender was as surprised as I was when I PM'd her to let it know it had been delivered and glad to finally get her credit.

I had a box of three go lost as a recipient a few months ago.  As far as I know, they are still MIA.  If they were returned to the sender, she didn't tell me.  She did email and ask me about their going lost, so I'm assuming she did mail them when she said she did.  I was really bummed, and so was she, I'm sure.  I'm still hoping they might show up ... .

Well, there's hope then for me for some books I posted in early May and went lost.  There were 6 books to the same person (it was a deal, so officially only 2 books are lost).  I felt really bad about it, but unfortunately nothing to be done.  I did have another copy of one of the books, but that doesn't help much on a deal.  Hopefully, they'll show up one day.  Pat

Heather, I know what a bummer that is so I just gave you a credit to make you feel better. Hope that cheers you up a little.

I have only had two reported lost, one an APO which turned up, the other one the person PMed me to say that it came back to her because she mailed it with stamps and it was over 13oz so it is on it's way to me and hopefully will get here this time. I have another one that hasn't arrived and it is close to being reported lost but the sender PMed me telling her it was returened to her with my address ripped off so she is also resending it but wrapped much better this time.

Hope you find a really good book to use it on and then you will really be in a good mood just thinking about a new book coming. At least it works for me! Enjoy.
