Has anyone else experienced a noticable slowdown in shipping times since Christmas? I ordered two books just after Christmas and neither one has arrived. I'd say it was just the awful Brooklyn post offices but my two shipped books haven't arrived either.

Let me know your thoughts and experiences.

I had noticed that in December,  the delivery times for media mail seemed to be shorter,  but since Christmas,  they have gone back to the normal  'whenenver'  delivery times.

I am starting to wonder. A book I ordered was shipped on 1/2/10 and I still have not received it, but have received another that was actually shipped later. hmmm.....

For me it's been the typical media mail times.  Had a couple that were staying on the east coast that took about 4 days (one coming, one going).  Had one that got from Virginia to Minnesota in about 5 days.  Have one that I mailed about a week ago to Minnesota that hasn't been marked received yet.

Same as Joyce - but as I'm in HI, transit times to/from are longer anyway.

I have actually noticed the opposite.  Books seem to be getting to me faster now that the Xmas rush is over.

I just received a Christmas Card on  Friday that was postmarked 12/21/09,   and this was first class letter,  from 2 states away.     So maybe the USPS is a little behind.

I've noticed things I've mailed are taking forever to get where they're going.  Granted, I've only used media mail, but it seems that the packages I mailed on the 11th should have gotten there by now.

I've had two books I ordered go lost since Christmas. Both from different states in  the Northeast.

Have also noticed a definite delay in getting Media mail, more so than usual.

Have been able to attribute some to senders marking their books mailed 1-4 weeks BEFORE they actually mailed it.  I make it a point to put a note to PBS in the space provided so they know I did not make a mistake when entering the mailed date and inform if there was or was not communications letting me know the book wasn't mailed within the 2-3 day grace period provided.

Had one mailed AFTER PBS marked it lost.... Go figure.

The rest typically go through Bell, CA where I expect an extra week or more to receive.
