One of my 16 yo's WL books finally hits #1 and our request gets accepted on day 5 finally with a mail date of last available date. So today they were supposed to mail and I sign-on to find they cancelled the order! Uggghhhh--- I figured it was just someone who has a postage limit and was waiting til payday or something to mail more books. |

I feel your pain, Jeanne! I'm on day 3 of the third cycle through of being at #1 for Insurgent! I'm really hoping it gets accepted AND mailed this time! >_<

Well, thank goodness for the return to #1 spot. However, when I checked my transaction archive and saw the 'cancelled' notation, it made me wonder-- why doesn't it say WHO cancelled the order? I did get an email from PBS showing that the poster had informed them she was going to a wedding so couldn't mail the book. Hmmmm, since she made sure to accept the offer at the last possible moment, then put the "will mail by" date as the last possible one, it sure didn't seem like just being out of town was the reason for this cancellation. Guess I can hope that when she returns to town, she will re-post the book and we will get the offer again. |

It probably was stretched out to give her the maximum time to mail it, and then she still wasn't able to fit it in. I sometimes get busy and don't know when I'll get to mail a book, so I stretch it out to ensure I don't get caught short by underestimating it. On the plus side, at least she didn't just click Mailed and then figure she'd get around to mailing it sometime. I had one max out and get marked in the last hour of the last day as mailed (11 pm. on a Sunday), and the book never showed up. I seriously doubt it was mailed, they just clicked it as Mailed for whatever reason that made that seem like a good idea. So I had to wait an entire month to get back into the FIFO list.

I hear you on that one. I had a WL offer, I accepted and the just waited. It timed out last night, and I was put back in no 1 on the WL, and less than 24 hours lafter I have another WL offer from the same member. I seem to remember there being something about this in the help docs, but I can't find it. I am apprehensive to just let it go through, they didn't send it the first time after all. |

Trying being number 1 for a super popular book that you have had wishlisted since Oct. Yes Oct. I was 15 on the list and it has taken me till now to be #1 on the list for this book. I watch as the last number drops every day in one week it has dropped 21 people off the end of the line and yet I can't get anyone to post the book to me. I'm #2 for the second one and started at the number 9 position in Oct on my wishlist. This is really ridiculous. I had the book wishlisted long before it was ever popular. Arggghhh. |

Sometimes I don't understand people. You would think anyone who has swapped here for any amount of time would have their stuff set up at least somewhat conveniently or they wouldn't bother anymore, you know? It takes about 5 minutes to locate a requested book, print a label, put it in an envelope and set it out on the porch. If you're too short of time to go to the p.o. then pay the extra .50 pr whatever to be able to mail it from home or put your list on hold. Grrr! I know, in a perfect world, lol. I'm just still a little annoyed over recently posting a WL book and the first person it was offered to waiting the max time to turn it down so it could move on to the next person. |
