http://www.gaywired.com/Article.cfm?Section=66&ID=20306 This really depresses me. Not only about Boltz himself but about this supposed mega-church that actually supports this kind of thing. |

Well, I have no idea who this is, as I don't typically listen to contemporary Christian music. However, I have known of several people that 'struggled for 30-plus years' with the 'feelings they've had since they were a kid' and yet they did not ACT upon those impulses. That's very frustrating that someone who many teens and young adults might look up to would end up this way, and end up being supported by a church at the same time. So sad.... |

yeah, I have listened to boltz's music for years. Thank goodness we have a just God, one that is full of grace and mercy. All we can do is pray for him and hope that he will see his sin. God will be there waiting for him.......... |

Stop judging others, and you will not be judged. Stop criticizing others, or it will all come back on you. If you forgive others, you will be forgiven. Luke 6:37 |

This saddens me for him also. I do not believe that any judging has been going on in this thread. Stating what is directly in the Bible and offering prayers for grace and mercy do not add up to judgment. There is more than one reference in the Word that states it is a sexual sin. Reference Genesis chapter 19 about Sodom; Leviticus 18:22 ( NIV-- "do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestible"); 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 ("do not be deceived; Neither the sexually immoral nor idolators nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God" --- vs 11 goes on to say that "that is what some of you WERE. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ ...) and there are others. It seems pretty straightforward in these verses what is being acknowledged as sinful behavior and also plain that by using the word "were" that as Christians we are to turn from these things when we get saved. Homosexual acts are listed right in there with liars, cheats, idolatry, and sexual sins. Do we not pray for those who are caught up in pornography, adultry, alcoholism, and any other sins listed in the Bible? Is that judging? Acknowledging sinful acts that are plainly listed in the Bible is not judging, neither is hating the sin the same as hating the sinner. If it were the same, then Christ himself would be guilty of "hating the sinner", which is plainly not the case at all. Where we all need to be careful is in the area where we are called to love ALL with the same type of merciful, Agape love that Christ modeled for us when He was here on Earth and continues to show from heaven. We have ALL sinned and fallen short and it is this pure love that allows us to repent and be restored to full fellowship with Him. |

the word of God judges him, we don't have too. |

Good for him. I support him and the church. Me too, Brook. For those who don't... being disappointed in this man for being gay and his church for supporting him... there is no way I will ever understand that mentality. |

The disappointment comes from them both going directly against what the Bible and the Lord have said to do and be. Like Pat said, this type of life is very plainly discussed in the Bible as being sin. |
