Hello.

I received a WL book but it's a uncorrected proof for limited distribution.

I personally don't care as I plan to read and then pass on to the next person on the WL.  However it seems I remember reading that they are not allowed in this book club.

Are these allowed ?

no, not allowed, same as an Advanced Copy Book (ARC)   If you already accepted it in a trade, you cannot post it but you can offer it for a credit in the Bazaar Forum. There is a special post for ARC's.

  • If you receive an ARC, you should mark it received as a Wrong Book and send a message to the sender asking for your credit back.
    • You should NOT repost an ARC (or any problem book) if you receive one.
  • The receiver of an ARC is not required to return the item; she or he may agree to do so if the sender sends postage for the item's return.  This is the case with all problem books: the requestor receiving them is not obligated to spend postage to return them.

The above is from the help documents.

Unpostable Charity, Uncorrected Proof = ARC.  You are correct, this book should not have been offered FIFO.  Log it in RWAP as Liesl has posted above.

Yes, mark it "received with a problem" --> "wrong book" as suggested above.

also note, on your side when you mark it rwap it goes back on your wishlist in the original position, so if you don't want another copy sent you should put it on hold or delete it from your wishlist.

when you mark rwap you will be sending the sender of the book a pm.  In it you should tell them what the problem is and what you want them to do about it by when.  If you want them to return your credit you should say so. Once you hear back from them and resolve the problem you will mark the rwap as resolved.  If you dont hear back from them at all you can mail to the pbs team from the transaction archive for assistance in contacting the sender.
