Michelle--You should be able to take it back and get a different copy--I'm in her Yahoo group and she (Kerrelyn) sent out this message:

I have received a few reports of books that didn't get printed correctly and are missing the top half of a few pages. When you purchase the book, (and bless you for that!), please check that the book is a good one. If it isn't, please show it to the bookseller so they can return it and re-order.  If you have already purchased a faulty book, please try returning it to the bookseller. If they won't help you, please call the 800 number for HarperCollins, listed at the bottom of the advertisement pages at the end of the book, and they can help you.
