Has anybody read this one yet and if so, what did you think?  I just finished it and....  that was totally weird!

I got to about page 30 and left it unfinished.  (Library book.)  Just wasn't into it.  Sometimes the tone of MJD is just what I need.  The first bit was lacking that spunk.  Did the mood change from all that serious talk?  I just could not face 200 more pages about the devil.

(Before PBS I would never have DNF so early in a book.  Now my TBR is huge.  Whee!)

I just done reading it yesterday and it was odd, atleast different parts of it were.  The ending just didn't make sense to me.

I've heard about it, and it sounds like I will be giving up this series...I am number 1 for it here but I am not sure if I want it or not.

It's on my wishlist, I'm unfortunately waaaay down on the list.  I hate to hear that people aren't having a positive reaction to it...but I can certainly understand it.  The last book from what I recall wasn't up to par either.  Regardless, I still want to read it though!

I hate when an author totally screws up a great series.  I LOVED Betsy when I first started reading them.  Light, funny, cute, even the gorey parts were funny.  I've had book 7 on my shelf since the day it came out and still haven't touched it.  I almost feel the same about Harris.  I'd like to think it's the series that ruined her books, but I've read some of her other stuff and some of it I liked all right, but others I was just like, that was horrible.  And LKH, don't even get me started on how you take a fantastic series and great writing and butcher it is beyond me.  I mean, what kills me the most is that these writers keek writing books that get like 2 stars and they don't try and turn it around, it's like they just don't give a rat's behind.  (Sorry, too much venting...LOL)  Very passionate subject for me.

I read, I think it was her blog, MaryJanice Davidson say that basically she had nowhere left to go with Betsey so she decided for a change...and it she knew some of her fans would hate it. My thoughts are, if you have to do something so drastic with a series to keep it fresh, why not just end it? Sure it would suck for us readers, but better than let it go bad (can we say LKH?).

It's is almost the same with Charlaine Harris with me too. The last book is sitting on my shelf and I have no desire to read it.
