For all you glorious Queen Betsy Fans the next installment will be released June 24th.

Undead and Unworthy --

So far my only issue w/ it is the cover... I would much rather have a cover that matches the rest of the series.

Oh well, I'm counting down the days till I buy it though ^_^

-- I'm sure I'll share soon after --  ;)

I hate that it is coming out in hardback!!! I am still getting it. I will read it, sell it, then buy the paperback for my bookcase. I do this with Charlaine Harris also.

Really? I'd much rather have a hardcover if it will be a keeper for me. They last longer.

I'm partial to the paperbacks as well.  I don't like holding a big hardback in my hands while reading, it's uncomfortable.  The only bad thing is, when there are books that both my boyfriend and I love, we have to have a copy in paperback and one in hardback, because he likes hardbacks, haha.  Takes a lot of room up on our shelves.

"Better to share with my dear"

^_^ I'm all about paperbacks. But my fiance, too, is about the hardbacks. Weird, eh? Those boys.

hahah

If it's just to read, and I don't plan to keep, I prefer paperbacks.

i buy all my keepers in hardcover, they last longer.  If it's a favorite that I read over and over I will actually buy more than one copy in hardcover.  LOL  I've been through at least 3 sets of the Last Herald Mage books by Mercedes Lackey.  Otherwise I buy paperback, lately i've enjoyed ebooks more than anything though.

heh.  i saw someone with all three of those who was offerent a 3/1 deal the other day, and debating getting them to see if they were better than my copies.  but i was about out of credits, so i got books i hadn't read instead.

If I keep the books I prefer hardback but we move around so much (military family) that it takes up a lot of weight if I keep all of the hardback books.

If they are keepers I prefer hardbacks also, but just to read, paperbacks are easier.  I haven't read Mercedes Lackey -- I will have to add it to my WL  !

I love MJD writing but I flat out refuse to buy her books anymore.  I can't remember the last time one of her books took me more than an afternoon to read.  They are novella's at best...she should be ashamed to sell them as 'full' novels IMHO!

I will be purchasing the book as soon as I get home from vacation.  I'll be in the middle of the woods when it comes out...  :(

Marie, while I agree with you regarding the length of her books, I am still going to buy the books.  I really really like her writing.

Yea, I've been pretty sad about the lengths -- but as I'm a full time student and working full time AND have a house to take care of I actually love her for it these days (I'm sure once things slow down that will change....) but for now I love the afternoons I spend reading her books, they are HILARIOUS ^_^ and I can feel like I've actually read a WHOLE book in less than 3 weeks! ... 'cause thats how long it take with most.. it's sad ;) ahhaha

Anyway, not too much longer till it comes out ^_^ w00t!

It was ok, she said that it is part of a 3 book mini seris in the seris. Not as funny. There were parts that made me laugh but some had me just shaking my head. I think that she is trying to make it darker.

I'm reading my first Mary Janice Davidson book and I'm loving it.  I'm reading the 5th of Queen Besty.  I hate not reading in order, but when I started this book I didn't realize it was a series.  I plan on going back to the 1st book to read the series.

Right there is my point.......if it is part of a 3 book mini series than put it in an anthology or wait and actually finish an entire novel.  If it was a $6.99 pb I wouldn't be as upset...but come on....she is charging $25.00 for this book as a hardback!!!  She she be ashamed of herself!  And buying her book just encourages her behavior!  Why take the time to trully write a novel if people are willing to pay $25 bucks for 1/3 of a book?!?!?!?

Well welcome to the addiction... she is a pretty funny lady -- I also really like her Alaskan Royals Series. ^_^

**

I finally had a free evening to sit and read it (of course it was in the car while my fiance drove, since that is really the only freetime I have..:()

But Ididn't think it was that bad. I still laughed quite a bit, maybe not as much as usually but still outloud :D As for the "darker" bits, I thought they were done well. And they make sense, she is just really starting to understand her "duties" as a queen.

I don't know, I guess I just don't really expect too much of the books as it is. Just to make me laugh and to entertain, its not like they are classics or anything. Still I thought it was pretty good and as usual, I can't wait to see the next.

I thought it was pretty good as well :-)  It's not my favorite of the series so far, but I liked that she is trying to make Betsy realize some of her responsibility as queen.
