This is absolutely one of the most creepy page turners I've read in a long time. Imagine this - a bus load of school children kidnapped and buried along in their bus. Texas lawmen work frantically to decipher clues before the children run out of air.

Kidnapped by a cult of religious fanatics, an Austin school bus driver and eleven of young charges have been held beneath the ground of the group compound for forty-six days. Very good story, the bus driver "tale" of Jacksonville and Lopez search for Dr. Mortimer is based on his Vietnam experienc. In case, you are wondering what the title is refering to... it is from an Emily Dickinson poet. This author has woven Emily Dickinson's name or work in very one of her novels. This was my 3rd book by this author and there is only one more to read, I am hoping she will continue to write these very intelligent thriller.
